Marist Learning Zone (MLZ), established in 2017 as a temporary re-location for young people enrolled in a CEDP school who have disengaged from their education, have begun learning activities for 2020. Following on from a very successful 2019, MLZ have begun assessing student needs and arranging learning activities adapted for each student.

As term begins, we are reflecting on the success of our project. A total of 33 students have passed through our centre over the past year. Of these, many have returned to school and are achieving success, both with maintaining good attendance and making academic progress. 15 students are currently attending MLZ, some full time, others for some days each week, according to their individual attendance plan. We continue to have strong support from the students' schools, CEDP teams and Marist Schools Australia. Read more...

Marist Learning Zone and Grounds for Learning are sharing a garden project. The students from Grounds for Learning sell garden produce as a learning exercise in retail. This year, they have decided to expand this activity by growing their own vegetables. The Grounds for Learning students will use some of the MLZ garden plots to grow their produce. Read more...
