Recently we had a visit from a group of thirteen Trinity College students and four of their teachers. These Year 12 students were participating in a three-day experience of living together and assisting in a range of social justice activities including Matt Talbot hostel, soup kitchens and a visit to MLZ.
For many, it was their first visit to Mount Druitt and the first time they encountered students who are trying to re-connect with their education. Our MLZ students happily shared their personal stories of why they find it challenging to attend school and how they are trying to turn their lives around. The day involved many fun activities, a barbecue lunch and plenty of opportunities for the Trinity students to chat with our young people.
All in all, a fun day for our students and an enlightening experience for our visitors. Thanks to the Trinity staff who made this visit possible.
